Project Information
The 4th Street Elm to Alamitos Project will include removing existing pavement and resurfacing the roadway, sidewalk replacement, new curb/gutters, driveway replacement, ADA compliant curb ramps, and traffic improvements along the 0.36-mile corridor. East 4th Street between Elm Avenue and Alamitos Avenue has a total right-of-way width of 80 feet with 15-foot wide sidewalk/parkways on both sides of the street and a 50-foot-wide asphalt concrete roadway. Based on the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) along this stretch of East 4th Street, the Pavement Management Plan recommends the removal of 2.5 inches of the existing asphalt concrete pavement and construction of a 1.5 inch-thick wearing surface consisting of Asphalt Rubber Hot Mix over a 1-inch-thick layer of asphalt concrete leveling course. This project is supported by the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority and Measure A.
