Project Information
The Drake Park Community Center Improvements project is a multi-phase effort to modernize the facility, address aging infrastructure, and ensure it continues to meet the needs of the community. The project was designed to be implemented in three phases to minimize disruptions while allowing critical upgrades to be completed in a strategic and efficient manner.
Phase I addressed major HVAC system improvements to enhance building performance and visitor comfort, followed by Phase II, which focused on rebuilding the exterior restrooms. Phase III will complete the project with comprehensive interior and exterior renovations that improve the overall functionality, accessibility, and usability of the community center. Together, all three phases represent the significant investment in the long-term sustainability and service capacity of this important neighborhood facility.

February 2026
Phases I and II of the project were completed in mid-2025, marking major milestones in the City’s efforts to modernize the facility. These phases addressed key exterior and building system upgrades and laid the groundwork for the final stage of work. Construction for Phase III is set to begin in February and will complete the multi-phase project, further advancing the City’s ongoing investment in maintaining a safe, functional and welcoming community facilities.

August 2024
The construction that began in Fall 2023 involves replacing the roof and HVAC units and is nearing completion. Construction is also ongoing for the Drake Park Community Center Restrooms. An additional phase of work is anticipated to begin in Summer 2025, involving various interior improvements as well as exterior finishes, with a scheduled completion, barring weather or other unforeseen delays, by Winter 2026.

The contractor is scheduled to perform work Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Parking impacts are not anticipated. Efforts will be made to minimize inconveniences and minimize construction activities during scheduled park sports activities.
The contractor encourages park patrons to keep children away from the construction areas and activities. -

The City’s contractoris scheduled to begin construction in the area starting in Fall 2023 with additional phased improvements to occur throughout Spring 2024 with a scheduled completion, barring weather or other unforeseen delays, by Summer 2024.
The Drake Park Community Center Improvements Project is informed by the Facility Condition Assessments, which includes a full roof replacement, HVAC, lighting and electrical energy efficiency upgrades, and other facility improvements. The first phase of construction will begin in Fall 2023 and replace the entire roof and HVAC units.The contractor is scheduled to perform work Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Parking impacts for residents is not expected. Efforts will be made to minimize inconveniences and minimize construction activities during scheduled park sports activities.
