Construction for the Wardlow Park Roof Replacement Project has been completed. Thank you to the community for your patience and cooperation throughout this project.

 
  • May 2023 Update

    The City’s Contractor, Goodmen Roofing Construction, is scheduled to begin construction in the area in June 2023 with a scheduled completion, barring weather or other unforeseen delays, by July 2023.

    The improvements will include:

    • Full roof replacement
    • Energy efficient “cool roof”
    • Protect the city asset

    The contractor is scheduled to perform work Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Parking impacts for residents is not expected. Efforts will be made to minimize inconveniences and minimize construction activities during scheduled park sports activities. 

    The contractor encourages park patrons to keep children away from the construction areas and activities.

Project Information

The Wardlow Park Roof Replacement Project includes a full roof replacement, energy efficiency, and exterior drainage improvements. 

Improvements include the installation of new “cool roof” materials to better insulate and prevent heating and cooling loss, removes obsolete roof equipment, uses a new rubberized paint coating on existing equipment, and addresses an exterior drainage concern that occurs during the rainy season.

This project aims to:

  • Improve infrastructure quality
  • Enhance usability and useful life of facility
  • Improve energy efficiency

Project Funding

In 2019, a Facility Conditions Assessment was conducted and found that the roof needs an immediate replacement as it is past its useful life. Measure A funds of $550,000 will replace the entire community center’s roof.
