Latest Updates - November 2024
The public is invited to a second community meeting to learn more about upcoming plans to relocate the Long Beach Senior Center to 125 Elm Avenue, review community feedback results from the September survey, how results will be incorporated during the design phase and provide any additional feedback. The workshop is scheduled for December 9, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. at the 4th Street Senior Center located at 1150 E. 4th Street.
Subsequent events will be planned for the community centers at El Dorado Park, Silverado Park, Cesar Chavez Park, Houghton Park and McBride Park. The outreach process is expected to be completed by December 2024.

Project Information
The Senior Center at 125 Elm Avenue will provide numerous programs:
- social and recreational
- health and wellness
- meal and nutrition
- cultural enrichment
- health senior supportive
- active aging
- community and support networks
- services and information
The Senior Center will occupy the entire ground floor of the 125 Elm Avenue building, measuring 44,514 square feet. The senior center will be located in Downtown Long Beach, allowing accessibility by public transport (buses or light rail) along with parking available on the 2nd Floor of the building.
Project Funding
The budget for the Senior Center at 125 Elm Avenue is currently $9,810,000, inclusive of $4,000,000 Measure A bond financing.
