Long Beach, CA - The Long Beach Public Library (LBPL) is offering an online workshop for the award-winning Libby app, the one-tap app reading app from OverDrive. The virtual session will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 5, 2021, and will be open to new and existing app users.
“The expansive digital collection available through the Library is yet another way our libraries are working to serve our diverse community,” said Mayor Robert Garcia. “The Library’s continued effort to reach out and provide these types of services is a testament to their dedication to keep patrons connected.”
Experts from OverDrive will be available live to virtually assist patrons with getting the most out of Libby’s free collection of eBooks, eAudiobooks, and eMagazines offered by LBPL. People may register online to attend the free webinar session.
“Our ebook library is available 24/7 through the Libby app. The collection includes thousands of books and magazines in English and Spanish, for adults, teens, and children,” said Long Beach Public Library Director Glenda Williams. “We are happy to be able to offer this workshop to our patrons.”
While not required to attend the workshop, a library card is recommended to get the most out of this learning opportunity and is required to check-out LBPL's offerings in Libby. Applications for library cards can be filled out online or at any open library location.
The Libby mobile app is available for download from the App Store or Google Play. Readers can also download the magazines on Libby for offline use.
