Parking Meters
The City of Long Beach has both single-space and multi-space on-street parking meters that accept credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, and Discover) in Downtown Long Beach, The Pike, Second Street in Belmont Shore, Fourth Street in Retro Row, and select beach lots.
In addition, the City of Long Beach has partnered with Passport to create a contactless way to pay for parking now available in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. To see a list of participating Passport locations, please visit ParkLB's Passport Parking Page.
The City also offers free two-hour parking in Downtown at City Place locations, Lot A, B, and C. For additional information on City parking structures, visit parklb.com.

On-street Smart Parking Meter/Pay Station Rates
New rates immediately take effect at that space after a smart parking meter or pay station is installed. If you see a meter that still only accepts coin, the old rate will remain in effect.

Pay for Parking with Your Smartphone
Park at the participating on-street locations and beach lots using the Passport Parking App. To pay for parking with the app, enter zone number and add time or pay for a parking session in full.

Operating Smart Meters
Key features:
- The City offers the first fifteen minutes free to all users at the new smart-meters. Simply push green "OK" button to receive the first fifteen minutes.
- You can add two hours in advance of enforcement. For example, if enforcement hours begin at 9:00 am, you can put in money between 7:00 am and 8:59 am. The meter will wait until 9:00 am to credit your time.
- Smart meters accept coins, credit cards, and debit cards.
To use the meter:
- Coins: Insert coins for the desired time. Use nickels, dimes, quarters or dollar coins to park.
- Credit or Debit card: Insert and remove credit/debit card. Adjust payment amount with + and - buttons. Press green "OK" button.
*Important: The cash keys will not work on the new smart meters. Please exhaust the time on your cash keys and refrain from loading more time.

On-Street Overcharge/Refund Request Form
If you feel you are due a refund or overcharged for on-street parking, please fill out the form completely. Once the form is submitted, further instructions will follow. Refunds can only be made to the individual/entity that made the payment. Refunds are subject to verification of machine malfunction on the date, and time of the incident. The maximum refund allowed is $20.00 (basis for refund will be max of daily rate). Please complete the On-Street Overcharge/Refund Request Form.
