FY27 Community Budget Meetings

Release Date: 2026-07-27

Join the FY27 Budget Conversation

It's that time of year for the City of Long Beach's annual Budget Adoption process, as we prepare to enter into Fiscal Year 2027 (FY27). Now's your chance to join the conversation by attending a community meeting and providing feedback on the Proposed FY27 Budget!

The Mayor released the Proposed FY27 Budget on Thursday, July 30, 2026, and the City Manager will formally present it to the City Council during the Budget Hearing on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at or after 5pm, along with a presentation from the Human Resources Department. Budget presentations per department and Budget Oversight Committee meetings will continue throughout August and into September, until the final Budget Adoption Hearing on or before September 15, 2026.

Throughout the Budget Adoption process, the City will be hosting five (5) Community Budget Meetings (one virtual and four in-person) to allow the community to participate in the budget conversation. There, you can learn more about what is included in the proposed budget, how the feedback from community meetings earlier this year helped inform the proposed budget, and how the public can participate in the budget process. One of the in-person budget meetings will be held here in District 5, at Long Beach City College's Liberal Arts Campus (4902 E. Carson St., Room T1200), on Thursday, August 13, 2026, from 6 - 7:30pm.

Community members also have the opportunity to share their feedback through the Digital Comment Card, open now through the end of the business day on FridayAugust 14, 2026. We encourage you to take this opportunity to give additional feedback on the January community engagement results as well as the FY27 Proposed Budget now that it has been developed.
