The Long Beach Workforce Innovation Network (LBWIN) is a public agency serving Long Beach and Signal Hill.  We connect adults, youth, and businesses to opportunities—job seekers to employment and businesses to skilled workers.

Our career center, the WorkPlace, is an entry point to public workforce development services for job seekers, and employers. Adult job seekers can sign up for an appointment or an in-person orientation here, or join us virtually every Wednesday at 3 p.m. here.

The WorkPlace provides a variety of no-cost services to job seekers and employers. Career Center Staff assist and support individuals seeking jobs and career paths. We also host job fairs, on-site recruitment, and targeted outreach activities for job seekers and employers.

Career Guidance and Advising 

Create your work identity—access resources to the best training and education your career requires. Our knowledgeable Career Specialists are equipped to guide your job search, whether you want to change careers or advance in your field. 

Exploration of Training Options, including Training Scholarships

Scholarships to training schools and programs to assist job seekers in gaining a new skill or obtaining industry-recognized credentials that will lead to a better job or transition to a new career.

Goal Setting and Action Plans 

Specialized services and coaching sessions are designed to help you achieve your career objectives. These services support job seekers by working with them to identify their strengths, interests, skills, and desired career paths and then helping them set actionable goals for employment or career advancement.

Job Search Assistance and Referrals 

Resources, guidance, and connections to potential employers.

Occupational and Industry Information 

Access tools and databases that provide comprehensive details about various careers, industries, job requirements, and employment trends. 

Referrals to Additional Resources 

Our vast network of service provider partners can assist with basic needs, shelter, supplemental income, and other supportive services to ensure you can engage in training and job search activities with peace of mind.

Resume Writing and Interview Preparation 

Specialized offerings aimed at helping job seekers create compelling application materials and develop practical interview skills to stand out in the hiring process.

Workshops/Skills Training/Events

Big Interview

An online platform designed to help job seekers prepare for interviews and improve their interviewing skills through a mix of training and practice tools. 

CalJOBS 

CalJOBS is an online platform the California Employment Development Department (EDD) provides to help California residents find employment and connect with various job-related services. It’s primarily designed for job seekers, employers, and workforce professionals, offering tools for job search, career planning, and hiring.

Career Cruising 

Career Cruising is an online career guidance platform designed to help youth, educators, and job seekers explore various career options and plan for future educational and career paths using interest profilers, assessments, and occupational information.

Gladeo 

Gladeo is an online career exploration platform that helps job seekers and educators gain insights into various career paths and industries. Through video storytelling and informational resources, Gladeo seeks to make career exploration engaging and accessible.

Long Beach Public Library Job and Career Resources 

Use your Long Beach Library card to gain access to robust online-based resume support, job boards, one-on-one interview preparation, and training courses through LinkedIn Learning and Udemy.

Pacific Gateway Workforce Development Board

The Pacific Gateway Workforce Development Board represents the cities of Long Beach and Signal Hill.  Board Members are entrepreneurs, community leaders, educators and stakeholders of the community.  They work together in the effort to make their community an economically robust environment.

The Board meets quarterly, and meetings are open to the public.
