Meredith Reynolds Appointed as Acting Director of Technology and Innovation Department 3/26/2026

Long Beach, CA – Today, City Manager Tom Modica announced the appointment of Deputy City Manager Meredith Reynolds as the Acting Director of the Technology and Innovation Department (TID), effective April 4, 2026. Ms. Reynolds, who will simultaneously continue her role as Deputy City Manager, will serve as Acting Director while the City conducts a national recruitment process to permanently fill the position by fall 2026.

City of Long Beach Announces Awardees for Love Your Block Mini-Grant Program 12/12/2025 Long Beach, CA - The City of Long Beach Office of Civic Innovation has selected the community project awardees for the Love Your Block mini grant program, a community-driven initiative that empowers residents to take action and enhance their neighborhoods, with the focus for the inaugural year in West Long Beach. Five selected awardees will receive up to $2,500 in grant funding to support projects addressing air quality and transportation efficiency for residents, especially youth and older adults, in the 90810 zip code.

City of Long Beach Ranks First Nationwide as a 2025 Top Digital City 12/1/2025 Long Beach, CA – The City of Long Beach has been recognized as the first-place Top Digital City for its population size in the Center for Digital Government’s (CDG) 2025 Digital Cities Survey. The survey is conducted annually and evaluates how cities nationwide use technology to advance city goals, operations and services to the community. This is the first time since the creation of the survey in 2001 that any city in any population category nationwide has ranked first for five consecutive years, and the 15th consecutive year that Long Beach has been recognized as a Top 10 Digital City.

City Launches Internet Service Enrollment Line 6/30/2025 Long Beach, CA – The City of Long Beach has launched the Internet Service Enrollment Line, a new hotline and digital inclusion resource that connects residents with low-cost internet service. The Internet Service Enrollment Line is a statewide Get Connected Call Center powered by the California Emerging Technology Fund (CETF), whose work focuses on forging partnerships and fostering public policy for the digital divide.

Our goal with "Ask Elby!" is to enhance the user experience by providing quick and easy access to information and resources directly from the website.
