Long Beach Fix It Clinics

LB Recycles has partnered with LB Reuses, Algalita, the Long Beach Time Exchange, Pedal Movement, and Fixit Clinic, and with support of LA County Public Works to bring Fixit Clinics to Long Beach. 

Fixit Clinics are events where volunteer fixit coaches and community members work alongside one another to attempt repairing an item. Attempting to repair an item before recycling or disposing of it is a great waste reduction practice. In alignment with LB Reuses’ mission to reduce single-use plastic and overall waste through engagement, advocacy, and collaboration on reuse initiatives, we aim to work with organizations and the community to facilitate knowledge and tool sharing so that items may be repaired and given a new life. Community members can bring broken items such as electronics, bicycles, watches, jewelry, toys, clothes, and small appliances.

Are you a tinkerer, a mender, or do you like to problem-solve? Become a volunteer fixit coach! Attempt to fix alongside fellow community members to bring new life to items! Or, simply attend an upcoming Fixit Clinic with your broken item and come ready to learn alongside the pros.

RSVP'ing beforehand allows us to prepare for the event and speeds up the check-in process. However, it does not guarantee you a spot or priority over walk-ins. This event operates on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Our goal is to support the community in repairing their items to save money, reduce waste, and learn with their fellow community members! Fixit Clinics are not specific to Long Beach, California, or the United States. These type of events happen all over the world! Big thanks to Fixit Clinic for organizing these events throughout the U.S.
