As part of our ongoing commitment to external communications and providing valuable information to our community, the Department posts preliminary information about incidents that occurred the previous evening, including shootings and stabbings, as well as any other LBPD updates to the Department’s homepage and on the “News” tab of the Department’s website. This page will be updated as new incidents occur.

Here’s a recap of incidents occurring last night:

  • Stabbing – 2800 block of Gale Avenue: On Feb. 7, 2025 at approximately 9:30 p.m., officers responded to the 2800 block of Gale Avenue regarding a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers contacted a male adult victim with non-life-threatening stab wounds to the upper body. Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived on scene and transported the victim to a local hospital. The preliminary investigation indicates the victim was walking outside when a male adult suspect approached and robbed the victim. During the robbery the suspect stabbed the victim. The suspect fled the scene before police arrived. The investigation is ongoing.

Great work officers! Last night, officers safely took a gun off the streets -

  • On Feb. 8, 2025 at approximately 2:00 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Ellis Street and Chestnut Avenue. During the investigation, officers recovered a firearm. The suspect was arrested. The investigation is ongoing.
