Long Beach Justice Fund
The City of Long Beach announced in April 2019 the receipt of a $100,000 SAFE (Safety and Fairness for Everyone) Cities Catalyst Grant from the Vera Institute of Justice (Vera) and the selection of Immigrant Defenders Law Center as the legal service provider to initiate the Long Beach Justice Fund (Fund). The selection was made through a competitive request for proposals process overseen by the City in partnership with Vera and community members representing the Human Relations Commission and Long Beach Immigrant Rights Coalition. Approved by City Council on December 4, 2018, the Fund will support legal representation for immigrants who live or work in Long Beach and are facing deportation. Read the full Press Release
Fondo de Justicia de Long Beach
En abril de 2019, la Ciudad de Long Beach anunció la recepción de una subvención Catalyst SAFE (Seguridad y Justicia para Todos) de $100,000 otorgada por el Instituto Vera de Justicia (Vera) y la selección de Immigrant Defenders Law Center como proveedor de servicios legales para iniciar el Fondo de Justicia de Long Beach.La selección se realizó a través de un proceso competitivo de solicitud de propuestas supervisado por la Ciudad en colaboración con Vera y miembros de la comunidad que representaban a la Comisión de Relaciones Humanas y la Coalición de Derechos de los Inmigrantes de Long Beach.
