Additional Information

The City of Long Beach Construction and Demolition (C&D) Recycling Program encourages the use of green building techniques for new construction, and promotes the reuse of recyclable materials for demolition and construction projects. The program requires applicants of certain construction projects to provide a waste diversion deposit (deposit) at the time of permit issuance, which is returned upon project completion and proof of recycling. More information.
Thinking about putting up lights and other decor on your home for the holidays?
Choosing the right ladder for the job and ensuring proper set up can help avoid injury. Ladder safety is also important for our building inspectors when conducting inspections.

Before scheduling an appointment for an inspection, contractors and/or property owners are required to ensure that building inspectors have safe access to any area being inspected, which may include providing working ladders in good condition, adequate lighting, and a clean area. If City inspectors cannot safely access required areas, the building inspection will be rescheduled for a later date when all safety requirements can be met.

Let’s work together to effectively construct safe buildings that add to the vitality of our dynamic City.
