Zoning Administrator

The Zoning Administrator (ZA) plays an important role in reviewing and approving development applications that shape the built environment of Long Beach. Acting as a non-legislative hearing body, the ZA provides oversight and decisions on matters such as Standards Variances, Coastal Permits, Minor Lot Line Adjustments, Legalization of Illegal Units and Lot Mergers.

Zoning Administrator hearings are held via teleconference on the second and fourth Monday of each month at 2 p.m. Members of the public may also provide verbal comments during the meeting. Please note that teleconference meetings may occasionally encounter technical disruptions; however, public access and participation will continue to be maintained in accordance with the Brown Act. Written testimony and public comments may be submitted in advance to Zoning.Administrator@longbeach.gov
