Latest Draft Land Use and Urban Design Elements Now Available

generalplan2040-v2

The Latest (February 2017) General Plan Draft Land Use and Urban Design Elements are now available. The General Plan Land Use Element (LUE) is the roadmap to the City's future, providing a map of allowable land uses, building types, and heights. The Urban Design Element (UDE) looks at how people and places interact with the public realm. Over the past ten years staff has worked diligently to prepare a new General Plan LUE and UDE. This colossal effort involved over one-hundred community meetings; surveys and research of the entire City; population, traffic and economic modeling; as well multi-agency review and coordination to create the plans. Prior to this effort the LUE was last updated in 1989 and the General Plan does not currently contain an UDE. A public hearing is scheduled at the February 2, 2017 Planning Commission Meeting; 5:00 p.m., at City Hall Council Chamber. Learn more information and to view the latest draft plans.
